We wanted to complement the Grenadier's offroad-centric interior with a clean, factory-looking Accessory Rail. One of the only major items lacking in the cockpit is a solid, high-quality accessory mount for phones, maps, iPads, Garmins, etc. The Owl Accessory Rail is machined from billet material and is then anodized black or red. We designed the part in four sections to be mounted in a right o...

Sprinter Van Bottom Shock Bracket Failure

Sprinter Vans are shockingly good off-road, but like any off-road vehicle, you need to protect some of the critical components that can be damaged on the trail. When we go over rocks and other obstacles, low-hanging components can be damaged and leave us stranded on the trail. Protection of key components should always be addressed before you hit the trail. In this video, we had a customer with...

The new AlphaRex Sprinter Headlight upgrade is one of our most popular products. So much of our Adventure in these vans means traveling at night on lonely highways. It's against the law to use most offroad lights on road, so you are stuck with the headlights on your van. Now finally there is a way to upgrade the factory lighting to something brighter Due to Sprinter Vans' complexity, making aft...

Wheel Spacer on 170? What is your opinion of the use of wheel spacer to replace the inside wheel? Thank you. Bob
Thanks for this video, very informative good job!! 👍👍
Where are the wheels made?
What are the interior depth of each of the boxes? Can a solo stove ranger (15” diameter) fit if it sits right in the opening of the box?
Hi! Isn’t that blue button used for air flow? I’d rather use that than risk opening that hatch! Another trick we like to do is empty some gray water into the cassette when we’re on the road so essentially it gives the cassette an extra cleaning.
Thanks. Just received ours and getting ready to do the install in a week or so. Do you recommend pulling off the batter master switch before beginning this install? Also, how long of a 10mm ratchet extension do you recommend to reach those bolts?
We simply disconnect the battery at the battery when doing the swap. I think I used a 6" extension but a little longer would be ideal. Oftentimes, you need to trim the plastic battery and hold it down slightly to get it to fit again. The Antigravity is slightly longer than stock.
@@owlvansengineering Thanks. I'll let you know how it goes. Seems pretty straightforward. Appreciate the tips.
Thank you, Owl Vans! I just finished the install & and your video made it a smooth operation. Came out great
The Garmin accessory ball matches perfectly with the RAM Size C (1.5") arms; RAM lists their Size B ball (1") as capable of holding 2lbs in HD applications and 4lbs for Size C. The Tread XL weighs just over 2lbs, so it would make sense it has the larger 1.5" ball mount
So, the question is how heavy are the bullet point machined aluminum balls rated for?

Hi
Well your close by, now I just need to figure out how to swing a Revel. Maybe I’ll just come by and steal some snacks…. Or take the dog for a walk.
Is this an actual retail store where I can buy something? I was at the northern California location last year and they refused to sell me anything unless I had them install it which neither of us have the time to do at that point. Thankfully, the guys at Matrix in Bend, Oregon sold me what I wanted. Given all the videos showing how to install should be able to buy product to install myself even at “install” Centre. Install should be an add on service not only service!
Hey Bob, we totally understand the frustration. The reason we don't yet have pickup is because we are unable to product enough product to supply both our install centers and retail pickup. We have been doing everything we can to increase capacity and make parts available for pickup. We hope to have retail pickup available soon.
@@owlvansengineering so I guess not a store too bad as being from Canada shipping and additional costs make it prohibitive to ship would love to visit a “candy store”
Great videos.
Wow! What a beautiful facility, congratulations!
It is very cool. I wonder if the manufacturer could incorporate a flush, threaded concentric nut in the bottom as well. To give the option to bolt the in place if one chose. They are nice. Gotta talk to mamma, I want them
too bad you guys don't offer this a medium height Transit like the competition does.
Sick! Will definitely be stopping in.
St John’s Bridge very cool
Nice job, John! AttaBoy’s all around.
Excellent!! Hoping for one in the Northeast, New Hampshire maybe, tax free there too!
Top man and top product 🎉❤👍👍🚐
OMG excitng! I watch your videos and always wished you were closer!
Congratulations!
Welcome to Oregon and only 50 miles from my house. My VISA will love you (my wife...not so much).
Not to be that guy, but if you buy something in another state and then drive back to your home state you are supposed to pay a use tax thats equal to the sales tax in your state. SORRY just not sure you want to go public with Tax Advice. ;). STORE LOOKS RAD
Thanks for the heads-up. We are obviously not tax professionals or suggesting anyone not pay their taxes. We only wanted to state that folks who get installed in our Portland facility will not be charged sales tax. If they live out of state, it would be their responsibility to pay any applicable sales taxes when they return to their state.
damn Ptown now! This means I get to swing by! yay :D (i lived in AZ for 18yrs too.. desert to PNW.. great transition.. time to go back to sun soon tho :) pz
Well done and best wishes from Bonnie Scotland 👍.✊🙏❤️👌👊😎
What a great looking store! The PNW deserves their own OWL Offroad for sure. Congratulations on all your success and keep up the great work!!
Yes! Welcome to The PNW... Cheers from Vancouver, WA! #owlvans
Excellent and useful video for new owners thanks!
Yikes, that sounds intense! Can't wait to see what makes this the grossest van video ever. We sent you an email, take a look.
Other than looking coolish, do they add significant candlepower to the road? What are the lumens per light?
The listing has more details. There is a link in the description. The lights are 3000 Lumens 30 Watts
Why is nodody talking about the guy skipping past the door :D
Good info
Good stuff
Excellent
Couple things... Typically you wanna drill through metal slow and deliberately, let the bit remove the metal, not try and melt it. You can heat it up to where it becomes work harden and also damage your drill bit. But more importantly, I love your videos apart from ONE thing... You are an attractive guy no doubt, but I don't ever feel you are talking to your viewers, because you never look at "us" and constantly looking at the video feed (naturally this is what a camera man would do and you appear to do the recording on your own) but it just seems like you are constantly watching yourself and worried about your appearance which seems very vain, shallow, and therefore makes your videos lack any type of viewer inclusion. I understand you need to check that everything you're doing and showing is in frame, but it's like being on a video call with a chick and you can clearly tell she isn't looking at the video feed of the recipient but is watching herself instead. We are all guilty of this I'm sure to some extent, but I'm pretty sure you have never looked at the camera lens like you are actually talking to anyone watching rather than checking yourself out presumably. It's just really distracting. And it makes you seem more concerned with your appearance than what you are trying to show us. You didn't move out of frame, the camera is stationary, you're in frame I promise lol. Appreciate the content man, stay beautiful 😂
Wow, there is a lot to unpack here. Thank you for the positive comments on the video. Believe me, I am not checking the video for how I look. I am simply looking at the phone as a whole since it is recording. While filming, I do try to make sure that what I am talking about is in frame, so I am actually not looking at myself. Second, I forget that the camera on the front side of the phone is off on the edge. It is unnatural to look at the edge of the phone instead of the center. I usually don't even know if the lens is on the right or the left. The right answer is to have someone else film but I hate to take people away from their jobs, and when it is just me and the viewer, I feel it's more personal. In the end, I want to make sure that the content of the videos is highlighted and I really couldn't care less what I look like on film.
I didn't think you were actually checking yourself out, I'm sorry if I came off brash or dickish. My intent was constructive criticism, and I perhaps am distracted by it more so due to recently moving out of state while my girlfriend is tied down running her own business, so past 7 months being long distance relationship = lots of video calls. I do apologize if I came off accusatory, I should have been more clear it only appeared that way on the viewer side. And I am a bit of a perfectionist nut, "nobody is going to meet my standards may as well do it all myself" type so I understand having to do it all by yourself. On a different note, I recently purchased a 2015 FREIGHTLINER 2500 Sprinter (only 36k miles!) and while not solely for van life (my new company vehicle actually) I do really enjoy the videos as I plan on upgrading with as many quality of life amenities as possible so it will serve this purpose better when I use it to travel/adventure. This is maybe one of three times I've ever commented on a RUclips video. Very satisfying seeing the creator reply so promptly. I'll definitely be ordering some parts from OWL if they are available for my year van!
No worries, I wasn’t bothered by it. More just trying to explain how o shoot the videos. I never knew it appeared that way so I can certainly work on it
Excellent information. Just what I needed to make an informed decision for my type of off-road driving. Thank you!
For the 170 all you gotta do to fix the "break over angle" is just "Dukes of Hazzard" it ;) Problem solved
I have the 3500 dual rear for payload. 10000 lbs. I love it.
4:24 that "feature" is a weep hole. You have it conveniently dripping onto the bracket
im curious about the distance between that lower right and the passengers seat?? I get up A LOT and would need the clearance to get back in my seat.
I don’t know the distance off the top of my head but I am a bigger guy and go to the back all the time without issue
@@owlvansengineering excellent ....thanks a lot for responding
144 with Pop Up = Best of both worlds
Yes, Pop-tops are great. Only downside is it is a lot of weight up high which isn't ideal for offroading and it can be harder to add solar.

Is the cutting necessary just to run 275’s on a 2020? How big can we go without any cutting?
